Till Thursday, April 13, it was assumed that home minister Mr. G Parameshwar (GP) may loose his KPCC president post which he is holding since 2012 any time. It was also assumed that energy minister Mr. DK Shivakumar might be appointed as the new KPCC president to ensure that party will get sizable amount of Vokkaliga votes in the 2018 assembly election. But following the by election results in which party has able to retain both the seats even after aggressive campaign by BJP state president Mr. BS Yeddyurappa, AICC reportedly re-thinking about its strategy.
If sources are to be believed, Dr. GP may be continued as the KPCC president as part of party's strategy to strengthen its core vote base of AHINDA. "If party had lost even a single seat in by election, Dr. GP would have replaced immediately. But now it is decided against the change in the KPCC leadership," sources confirmed.
